A 1996 Atlanta Olympics gold medal presented to a member of the Cuban baseball team. Cuba won Gold in the 1992 Barcelona Games and returned as defending champs in Atlanta in 1996. Cuba defeated the United States and Japan to take its second consecutive Gold. The medal hangs from its original ribbon. The obverse of the medal features a seated victory holding a laurel wreath in front of the Colosseum. The reverse features the Atlanta Games emblem and "CENTENNIAL OLYMPIC GAMES". The bottom edge is engraved "Baseball." Diameter, 2 3/4 inches.
