Own this spectacular photo matched game worn World Series jersey from the greatest defensive third baseman of all-time - Brooks Robinson. The 16-time Gold Glove award winner wore this specific jersey during the 1971 World Series vs. the Pirates, and it has been photo-matched to Game 2 of that Fall Classic, in which Baltimore played four games on their Memorial Stadium home turf. Please note that the jersey shows incredible wear that is consistent with season long use and has team employee provenance which is documented in the Hunt Auctions LOA. The jersey is signed on the front with "ROBINSON 5" on the back and "ORIOLES 5" on the front. There is a Rawlings size 40 designation and wash tag inside the tail. Despite his team falling short in a thrilling seven games, Robinson batted .318 with five RBI for the O's during the Series, one year removed from his MVP and championship season. Brooks played his entire 23-year pro career in Baltimore, and this uniform number will not be seen on an Orioles player again as it was retired immediately upon his departure in 1977. As yet another sign of his greatness, Robinson became one of just a handful of elite players to earn induction into Cooperstown in his first year of eligibility. This historic garment is accompanied by MEARS A10, JSA, and Hunt Auctions letters of authenticity as well as a full photo-match Letter of Authenticity from Real Game Used (RGU).
