The Los Angeles Lakers home jersey and trunks are presented as game used during the 2001-01 NBA Season and were prepared for the 2002 NBA Finals. This ensemble also includes a gold cotton armband and a purple elastic leg sleeve which are both accurate in style and make according to game footage. Kobe Bryant "Black Mamba" won back to back NBA Championships in 2000 and 2001 and had his sights set on a three-peat. Bryant left his mark on the NBA Finals as the Los Angeles Lakers clashed with the New Jersey Nets. Bryant averaged 26.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game and at age 23, became the youngest player in NBA history to win three titles. On the front left tail is a “Nike” size “52” manufacturer’s tag. Attached below is a “LENGTH +2” flag tag. On the left inseam is a tag that reads “2001-02” and a tag with washing instructions. On the left chest is an official “NBA” logo embroidered with a Larry O’Brien trophy embroidered behind it. On the right chest is a 9/11 memorial ribbon with an American flag on it. Across the front reads “LAKERS” in yellow tackle twill with a white border. Player number “8” appears on the front and on the back in white on yellow tackle twill. Across the back reads player name “BRYANT” in yellow on white tackle twill. The Nike Dri-Fit shorts are labeled size "48" with a handwritten "8" on the manufacturers tag.
The jersey has an Finals Trophy edition NBA logoman sewn over the regular season NBA logoman in preparation for the jersey to be used in the 2002 NBA Finals. It is reasoned that this uniform could have possibly been used at some point during the regular NBA season before it was prepared to be used in the 2002 NBA Finals. The uniform and accessories are accompanied by full Letters of Authenticity from PSA, and Game Used Expert Dave Miedema.
