Presented is a sphere destined to become the cornerstone of any elite sports memorabilia collection: an Official American League baseball (E.S. Barnard, President) signed by 19 members of the 1929 New York Yankees squad. Babe Ruth’s carefully scripted autograph properly lays claim to the sweet spot of the red-and-blue stitched ball. The adjoining panels feature the signatures of Lou Gehrig (nicely placed above the still bold Barnard stamping), Tony Lazzeri, Herb Pennock, Waite Hoyt, Bill Dickey, Earl Combs, Bob Muesel, and of course, manager Miller Huggins. Huggins died on September 25, 1929, helping solidify the date of the ball. Although the ’29 squad failed to make it to the World Series that season, this ball remains a true classic in every sense of the word, with some of the most desirable autographs from the most dominant players of the era!
